SUMMARY:Yoga for Your Dosha - Personalize your Practice
DESCRIPTION:Yoga for your Dosha ~ Personalize Your Practice\n4 class series for $50 USD \nindividual $25 USD \nMonday September 7 + Wednesday September 9 + Friday September 11 and Saturday September 12 (see below) \nGroup classes offer something powerful—the energy of practicing together\, community\, connection\, and the collective experience of Yoga. We need this. But Yoga was never intended to be one practice prescribed equally for every body\, mind\, constitution\, and stage of life. \nDid you know that Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences? They are two sides of the same coin. Traditionally\, they have worked together: Ayurveda helps us understand the individual\, while Yoga gives us practices that can be intelligently applied to cultivate balance\, strength\, vitality\, and greater awareness. \n\nKnow yourself better. Feel better. Live better. \n\nHow can one Yoga practice serve everyone?\nIn Yoga for Your Dosha\, Maria brings these two traditions back together. \nYou will learn how Ayurveda’s system of the Doshas can guide the way you approach Yoga—including asana\, pranayama\, Namaskar\, meditation\, pace\, intensity\, sequencing\, and rest. Does our practice need to look the same year-round\, or can we adapt it to work in greater harmony with the natural rhythms and seasons around us? \nYou won’t simply learn about the Doshas. You will experience them through practice. \nYou will begin to recognize how different approaches to Yoga affect the body\, breath\, energy\, and mind—and why the same practice does not necessarily serve everyone in the same way. \nThe final workshop\, Putting It All Together\, brings the teachings home. We will integrate what you’ve learned and experienced to help you begin developing a more individualized Yoga practice—one that can become an anchor in your daily life. \nLike an Ayurvedic herbal formula\, a thoughtfully chosen Yoga practice develops its potency through consistency. We establish the right conditions\, practice regularly\, observe\, refine when necessary\, and allow the medicine of Yoga to do its work. \nThis is where Yoga and Ayurveda become truly practical: helping you understand yourself more deeply and giving you tools to support how you feel and how you live. \nYoga becomes more than something you attend. It becomes something you live. \nSeries Schedule \nVATA DOSHA \nMonday\, September 7 | 5:00–7:30 PM \nExplore Vata as the energy that moves and initiates. In the body\, Vata is associated with movement—from our limbs\, bones\, and joints to the nervous system and circulation. The beating of the heart\, blinking of the eyes\, and coordination of movement in Yoga all fall under the influence of Vata Dosha. \nLearn how the qualities of a Yoga practice can help guide and balance Vata and support greater steadiness\, coordination\, and wellbeing. \nPITTA DOSHA \nWednesday\, September 9 | 5:00–7:30 PM \nExplore Pitta as the energy of transformation and digestion in all its forms. Pitta functions in the realm of liquid fire and is associated with enzymes\, bile\, hormones\, acids\, blood\, the liver\, spleen\, eyes\, and small intestine. \nLearn how Yoga can be intelligently approached to support and balance the transformative processes of the body\, including digestion\, metabolism\, and more. \nKAPHA DOSHA \nFriday\, September 11 | 5:00–7:30 PM \nExplore Kapha as the energy that lubricates\, nourishes\, and fortifies. Kapha provides structure\, stability\, and moisture and is associated with areas such as the joints\, brain\, lymphatic system\, sinuses\, and the body’s protective and lubricating fluids. \nDiscover how Yoga can work with Kapha’s qualities to support circulation\, movement\, vitality\, and greater balance within these systems. \nPUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER \nPersonalize Your Practice \nSaturday\, September 12 | 3:00–6:00 PM \nWe are complex beings\, comprised of all three Doshas. This final workshop brings everything together so you can begin working with YOU and start where you are. \nLearn how to shape your Yoga practice around you instead of trying to shape yourself around a Yoga practice. Integrate what you’ve learned about Vata\, Pitta\, and Kapha and begin developing a consistent home practice that reflects your constitution\, needs\, and life. \nWalk away with a plan for your own self-practice. \nAttendance at at least two of the three Dosha workshops is required to participate in this final session. \nREGISTRATION REQUIRED ~ each session comes with a booklet to guide and support your learning.
